The next month authorities of the Great Britain are going to start a database of sole-print which will be selling not only in territory of the country, but worldwide also. Law machinery believes, that the similar information will facilitate search of criminals essentially.
This database which has received name Footwear Intelligence Tool, will be constructed by a principle similar to the organization of genetic samples base which functions in the country since 1995 and contains millions samples of inhabitant’s of the Great Britain DNA.
Doctor Romel Pirsi from London organization Forensic Science Service marks, that prints of footwear soles on a scene of crime are as important for investigation, as prints of fingers, hair or blood of the criminal. During investigation of the majority offence inspectors has deal with prints of footwear soles which are frequently distinct better then prints of fingers which can be lacking at all if malefactor has taken care of it beforehand.
Base updating where the information from manufacturers of footwear is going to be placed (model, color, special signs, regions of distribution, etc.) and the data from crime places will be daily made. Official opening of archive is planned on February, 15. At present the base is already brought with more than 1000 information elements about models of company Nike, Reuters informs.
